It's summer festival time, which means there are many opportunities for folks to get out and enjoy mostly free music and festivities in our city and neighboring towns and townships (there's a difference, right?).
Minden Athletic beat MBL Bank, 17-6. Hutton Leppert singled, doubled and homered to lead Athletic. Devodrick Seamster singled and homered and Chase Woodall and Kyler James both had two hits. Luke Griffith doubled and Chase Shepherd, Cade Morgan, Walker Williams and Austin Taylor added singles.
Cooper Tires beat G&G Drywall, 9-6. Deundrea Harris struck out eight batters and homered to lead Cooper Tires. Jacob White stroked a double and Zach Specht, Jeffrey Walker and Derrick Herrington all singled.
MORE than 1,000 Winchester schoolchildren will enjoy two special musical performances this week. The events are run by Southampton's Turner Sims Concert Hall as a key venue partner for The Prince of Wales Foundation for Children and the Arts.
Sanders Farm beat G&G Drywall, 8-4. Sam Shoemaker homered and singled to lead Sanders Farm. Cole Sanders added two singles. Chad Bassinger tripled and Timothy Griffith had two singles to lead G&G.
