Canadian kayaker Adam van Koeverden won the silver medal in the K-1 500 on Saturday at the Beijing Games, making up for his dismal showing in the 1,000 metres the day before.
BEIJING - Russia completed its third consecutive gold medal sweep in synchronized swimming Saturday, winning a team event marked by a Japanese competitor passing out on the pool deck.
Men's K-1 1,000: Adam van Koeverden, Oakville, finished eighth in the final with a time of 3:31.793 seconds. Men's C-1 1,000: Thomas Hall, Pointe-Claire, Que., won the bronze medal with a time of 3:53.653.
