Donnie Tate BECKER - Donnie Allen Tate, 63, died Friday, May 30, 2008, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born on September 20, 1944, in the Bigbee Community of Monroe County, to Roy and Velena Tate. He had lived in Quincy and in Becker for 22 years.
Esther Elizabeth Accomando, 87, wife of the late Joe Accomando and a resident of Onancock, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2008 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox.
James Cossey PONTOTOC - James Ladell Cossey, 67, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born Jan. 12, 1941, in Pontotoc County. He worked in tool and die at Day-Brite Lighting Company. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Mary Weeks CALHOUN CITY - Mary Lee Moore Weeks, 91, died May 25, 2008, at Calhoun Health Services. She was born Jan. 28, 1917 in Big Creek, Miss. She was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Poynette picks up first win of the season. Portage's baseball split a pair of games Saturday at the Edgerton Tournament, falling to Hartford 8-2 before beating Monticello 8-3. HULEN †Everett C. Davenport, 89, passed away Monday, May 5, 2008, at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born September 22, 1918, in Dunbar, Va., the son of the late Kimper Martin Davenport and Minnie Bell Lane Davenport. He was a carpenter and was a member of the Tugglesville Baptist Church.
